Adult Christian Education:
This team is responsible for developing curriculum choices and recruiting teachers for adult classes during the Sunday school hour.

Children's Ministry:
CM provides programs that enable our children to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and grow in their faith. This ministry includes Sunday School, nursery, outreach to our neighborhood and partnership with the nearby elementary school, as well as other special events.

Choir :
The traditional choir performs each Sunday at the 8:30 worship service, and occasionally at special services. Rehearsals are held at 7:00 on Wednesday evenings.

Health & Wellness :
This is a ministry supported by the Board of Deacons. Visits are made on a regular basis to those Brookdale people who are home bound, hospitalized or in convalescent centers. The team also sponsors occasional health screenings or educational events to promote health and wellness.

Library:
This ministry is committed to impacting people for Christ through resource materials. Volunteers are responsible for the management of the library, updating materials and data entry.

Mark Twain Partnership :
Volunteers from Brookdale Church mentor children on a regular basis. They read with the children, help open milk cartons at lunch, and be a friend in general, at the elementary school just down the block from Brookdale. This is a weekly commitment, for ½ hour or so.

Men's Ministries :
This offers men the opportunity to grow in their relationship with Christ, love their families, serve the church body and reach out to the unchurched.

Missions:
Local, national and international missions are funded through a percentage of Brookdale's operating budget, plus annual pledges to The Great Co-Mission, a campaign dedicated to the completion of the Great Commission.

Praise Team :
Opportunities exist for singers and musicians to use their talent at the 11:00 contemporary worship service and various special events.

Preschool:
Brookdale Preschool practices the Montessori Method of education, which is both a philosophy of child development and a rationale to guide this development. The Montessori philosophy realizes each child is different an individual needs and growth must be respected.
There are four general categories of materials at Brookdale Preschool:
Daily Living -Exercises in carrying, pouring, and sorting, which develops small motor skills.
Sensorial -Develops the skills of observation, with exercises in discerning color, texture, and dimensions.
Academic - Develops skills in mathematics and language development, with exercises in number and letter recognition, phonics, etc.
Cultural - Foreign language (French), science, geography, and creative arts are integrated into the curriculum.
Brookdale Preschool also offers music, finger plays, art projects, and Bible stories in a Christian environment.

Senior Adult Activities :
This ministry seeks to link older people with the resources and programs of the church as they cope with changing life situations. Special events and outings are scheduled periodically.

Small Groups :
Small Groups at Brookdale are at the center of community life, made up of ten or so people who commit to growing together through Bible study, prayer and sharing.

Student Ministries :
A vision for reaching unchurched students, providing them with the fertile soil of love and concern for guiding them to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. This is a major thrust of Brookdale's mission. A boost to this ministry was the completion of our beautiful, new Student Ministries Center in the fall of 2000.

TLC:
Another ministry supported by the Board of Deacons, the TLC team coordinated meals for families who have lost a loved one, or for members who have just been released from the hospital.

Women's Ministries:
The team coordinates all activities of the women of Brookdale throughout the year, from Bible studies to various special programs and events, both within the church and in the community.
