Young Life
Young Life is a non-denominational Christian ministry whose goal is to introduce adolescents to JEsus Christ and help them grow in their faith. Young Life is completely funded by the communities in which it ministers. Individuals, businesses and churches make up the donor base in each community. Brookdale Church supports Young Life ministries in St. Joseph, North Kansas City, and Belton, Missouri.

Samaritan's Purse
Samaritan's Purse is a non-profit Christian relief and evangelism organization. A project of Samaritan's Purse is Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. This program of Samaritan's Purse provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas -- Jesus Christ, God's greatest gift. Along with shoe box gifts, millions of children are given Gospel booklets in their own language.

Wycliffe Bible Translators
Brookdale's own Joan Wardell works with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Her job is to help computers work in other languages. She has worked primarily with languages that do not use the English alphabet, such as Hebrew or Ethiopian. The fonts and other software Joan helps produce are used in Bible translation and in printing the Bible. David Liddle also works with Wycliffe Bible Translators, at the International Linguistics Center in Dallas. This arm of Wycliffe supports the computers of the missionaries who are visiting or residing in their area on furlough. Bible translation depends on up and running computers to hasten the translation!

Fellowship of Christian Athletes
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives... one heart at a time. Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in America. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. Brookdale supports the Wathena, Kansas chapter of FCA. This interdenominational group of young athletes meets at different churches in the community.

Lives Under Construction Boys Ranch
Lives Under Construction Boys Ranch is a residential treatment home for at-risk boys between the ages of 7 and 21. The Ranch began with a vision to make it possible for troubled boys to have a second chance at life by changing their behavior patterns. They believe this begins by demonstrating God's love to them through words and actions. Acomplishments at the Ranch are based on two basic principles: God can change lives in miraculous ways, and good work habits are important for building character, self-esteem and self-discipline.

InterServ of St. Joseph
InterServe is a faith-based, nonprofit, human service organization countering the effects of poverty on children, youth, the elderly and families in St. Joseph and neighboring communities. InterServ operates childcare centers for working parents, an elderly nutrition and homemaking program, provides tax help for the elderly, provides medical services, and in-home services. Their mobile meals program is the largest in the area, serving over 74,000 meals to homebound seniors yearly. Brookdale members help pack and deliver meals and contribute food and household products for InterServ's food pantry.
